Now that my year as an RA is coming to end, I can't help but reflect on the memories and experiences that I've had this year.
To my residents,
Adjusting to college was different for all of you. Some of you were excited to leave home and venture to Muncie, Indiana. Some of you weren't ready to say goodbye and went home almost every weekend this year. I remember when I first met you during our floor meeting, there were so many of you (58 to be exact). Even though we had no air-conditioning, I knew it would be a great year. There are so many different personalities on our floor and even though they clashed sometimes, it still somehow worked.
Thank you for all of the experiences you've given me this year. Even though I was a busy RA who wasn't around much, you guys made living on Shales 4 so much fun. From eating pizza and ice cream at programs, to building bulletin boards together, to volunteering at the animal shelter together- I enjoyed every moment of it. You guys have taught me about diversity, leadership, and how to conflict and I couldn't thank you enough for it.
Watching you all grow from Freshmen to Sophomores has been the most rewarding experience that I've ever had. Being able to help you get involved on campus and adjust to college has been an honor. I'm proud of so many of you for getting so involved in various organizations and becoming leaders. You've all impacted my life in a positive way and you've made my job more fun than I could have ever imagined.
I hope that you all continue to grow into the inspiring women that you've been becoming. You're all destined for great things in you next few years here at Ball State.
Thanks for being the best floor I could have asked for.
