It's been a very busy past two weeks! Here's my life update!
Two weekends ago it was July 4th weekend and it was a lot of fun! I had work off on Monday so it was a long three day weekend. I spent most of the weekend shopping, eating food, and going out with my friends (treat yourself!). On the 4th of July, it was raining so I didn't get to see the Macy's Fireworks- I was very upset! But I still had a nice dinner with my roomie!
I tried this amazing ice cream place called 10 Below. The ice cream starts out in liquid form and the employee freezes it on the cold counter top. Then they flatten it out in a sheet and roll the ice cream into several rolls. They place the rolls into the cup and add whatever toppings you want! It was so cool to watch them make the ice cream and it tasted incredible.
If you know me, you know how obsessed I am with ice cream. For my internship, we decided to have a photo shoot at Dylan's Candy Bar. Ralph Lauren created this candy store for his daughter, Dylan. It's very popular and has several locations. While we were at the cafe in the Upper East Side, we saw Dylan herself! I also tried the Birthday Cake Shake (the giant one on the left). And yes- I ate the whole thing!
The reason that I didn't post a blog last Friday was because my best friends from school came to visit me! On Friday, all three of them came and we went to a Happy Hour on Wall Street. After we ate dinner, we went to Webster Hall. Webster Hall is such a fun experience and we danced the night away. Afterwards, we stayed in the Paramount Hotel in Times Square- it was such a fun night!
One of my friends left Saturday morning, so we spent the day shopping and wandering around New York! We got lunch at a great burger place and had Mexican food for dinner. We decided to go to Manhattan for the evening and went to a fun place called Phebe's. I missed my friends so much and it was great having a whole weekend together in my favorite city!
Sunday was their last day here so we went to the Financial District and ChinaTown. I showed them my favorite ice cream place- Eggloo. We also went and saw the 9/11 memorial. It was my first time seeing it and it was absolutely breath-taking. I'm in awe of the monument and I plan to return to go into the actual museum.
I've been very busy at my internship since there's only two weeks left after this week! We've been doing a lot of photo shoots so it's been a lot of fun! We decided to do a lifestyle shoot of all the famous New York buildings. Here's one of my favorite pictures from the shoot- it was taken from the rooftop of the MET!
Last night, my coworkers and I went out into Manhattan for a Karaoke night. We didn't end up singing any karaoke, but it was a lot of fun hanging out with them outside of the office. It's crazy and sad to think that I only have about two more weeks left in New York. This summer has been the best one yet and it's flown by! Stay tuned for next week's post! I finally turn 20 years old on Tuesday, so it should be a memorable one!
