I've finished my first week at my internship here in New York!
I've completed my first week at my internship with Nava New York and I am in LOVE!! The company and employees are amazing and I am so excited for the upcoming two months! Since I've been receiving a lot of questions about it, I thought that I would write a blog post summarizing my first week of my internship.
Day 1 (Tuesday):
The three other interns and I started the day off by getting brunch with the CEO and our supervisor. It was DELICIOUS and I was able to learn a lot about what we will be accomplishing this summer. We went over a packet of information while we ate and began work as soon as we got back to the office. One of our tasks was to pin locations on Google Maps of cool locations that we want to do photo shoots at over the summer. We spent a few hours researching cool spots in New York and then we began making Mood Boards (inspiration boards) for the various photo shoots. I'm very excited to assist in planning and styling my own photo shoots this summer!
Day 2 (Wednesday):
We started the day off by analyzing Nava New York's social media platforms. We took notes on things that we like, things that we don't like, and things that we want to change. We then had a meeting with the CEO about this to give him some feedback. Once that was finished, we began collecting a list of blog post ideas that we will want to blog about this summer. Nava New York is planning to launch a blog and I can't wait to write content for it!!
Day 3 (Thursday):
Sam (the CEO) surprised us with Nava New York flannels and coffee mugs! They are adorable, so naturally us interns went outside on the dock to do a photo shoot of us wearing them! We posted the pictures on our social media platforms and then we came up with a strategy for the company's Snapchat. We also made a mock design of a possible Snapchat geofilter- we can't wait to get the Snapchat up and running! The rest of the day was spent writing rough drafts for possible blog posts.
Day 4 (Friday):
Cheers to the weekend! Today we started off by going to a world famous fish market with one of the Production employees. She showed us around and even bought us lunch!! It was National Donut Day so we obviously celebrated with free doughnuts. On Fridays we get to leave two hours earlier than normal, so now I can enjoy my second weekend in the city. Stay tuned for more updates!!
